Why Kindle Daily Deals May Be The Best Kept Secret No One Tells You About

I have to start with the confession. Those deals of the day on kindle where a title is put up for sale for, in most cases, a lower price than what the actual price is, well, I personally has considered them to be flash sales gimmicks. That was till I found one of those deals, the price of which was three dolls. Yes, three dolls. I was having a cold coffee and browsing the kindle at 2 am in the morning. Good browsing habits at 2 am in the morning always leads to deals that changes reading habits.

I had always wanted to buy Educated by Tara Westover. It was a continuous part of my wishlist, but for some reason I was always pushed away from vectors such as the price of the book. That is until kindle daily deals placed it unabashedly at 3$. I bought it, read it fairly quickly and realized that kindle actually has some of the best deals for the best books.

What Are Kindle Daily Deals?

Kindle Daily Deals are a digital book flash sale on Amazon that changes every day. Each day, a new set of eBooks is available at marked down prices. Some are famous bestsellers, and sometimes, they are well-known, but hidden treasures you would not find while browsing.

One day, you might find a thrilling book that you can’t put down. The next day you might stumble on a cozy memoir about a French bakery and its charming tales. It feels like a digital adventure, and a new surprise every day.

The Kindle Daily Deals are a small act of revolt

The retail price for books can be unreasonable, especially for those of you that like to get two, three, or four at a time. You might be used to shelling out a small fortune for books and watching your grocery budget dwindle. This is when The Kindle Daily Deals come in and surprise you like a mini-revolt.

Those of you that used to pay $12.99 for an uncertain debut novel now can get it for $1.99. If you love it, cool. If you don’t, then at least you didn’t have to pay more than your morning latte. This is the kind of the world that is accessible now — no genre is out of reach, and trying something new is encouraged.

Indulging in Surprise Books

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been courted into reading books I would have completely ignored on Kindle Daily Deals. An associate of mine the other day told me how he had gotten this strange little collection of essays written by this completely unheard of author. To everyone’s surprise, those pages had a collection of dated rainy brown afternoons.

There is an unusual sort of fun in scrolling your emails to check what fresh deals appear daily, and kindle deals. It feels good, and kindle deals provide that little extra motivation to make a break from hot reading.

Can You Actually Build a Real Library This Way?

Brief answer: for sure. Detailed answer: without a doubt that is possible.

Ever since I found out about the Kindle Daily Deals, I have discovered many classics, new releases, underrated memoirs, and even thrillers that I would not dare share with my book club. It is a joy to own so many books.

The best part? There are no tall stacks of ancient books on my bedside table. There is no remorse that I have not read a single book out of my new purchases. Instead, my new purchases are simply patiently waiting to be read and ready for when I want.

A Few Downsides — Let’s Be Real

Kindle Daily Deals are a double edged sword. On most occasions, they are amazing but they can’t be ignored that there are downsides.

I still haven’t opened books I purchased. I have lost sleep scrolling through endless pages of deals. It’s akin to buying vegetables simply because they’re on sale and then letting them rot in the fridge. Same vibe, except you don’t need to throw away a moldy zucchini later.

So, builders be warned. Just because a book is $1.99 doesn’t mean you need to purchase it on impulse. Though, in some cases, it is perfectly fine.

Best Types of Books to Grab on Kindle Daily Deals

Not all genres pop up equally. Mysteries, thrillers, and contemporary romance often appear in the daily deals.

Especially quirky, lesser-known memoirs with specific stories called, “That Summer I Raised Bees in Iceland.”

Occasionally, big buzz book club picks pop up. Purchase them and feel free to brag about your thriftiness later.

Young Adult & Fantasy. A ton of debut authors and hidden stars showcase their books through daily deals.

H3: Sharing the Kindle Daily Deals Love

Kindle Daily Deals are even more enjoyable when you tell others about them. There are different kinds of friendship pacts. My friend and I have one where we let each other know about excellent deals.

One time, she told me about a fantasy trilogy she liked. She bought the entire thing for less than five dollars. She tipped me off at the right time as it made my month.

You can turn this little friend ritual where you can grab the same deal, read together, and gossip about it later. Who said book clubs have to be fancy?

How to Gift a Kindle Deal (Yes, You Can!)

You can Gift Daily Kindle deals to other people. It’s a great last minute gift for a bookworm cousin or a coworker who forgets to have lunch because she gets lost in novels.

You choose the deal, click “Buy as Gift,” add a sweet note and it is done. This is a very thoughtful, inexpensive gift that is much better than giving a candle.

Where to Keep Tabs Besides Amazon

Other than the main Kindle Daily Deals page, there are other clever ways to keep track. The other main outlet is Amazon.

Blogging Sites for Deals:

Some book bloggers compile lists of deals on books on a daily basis. You can maybe subscribe to their emails for a second opinion.

Goodreads Alerts:

You can follow your favorite authors, and from time to time, they are the ones who will send updates on their books, especially if they are on daily deals.

Social Media Groups:

You will be surprised to learn about the amount of groups on Facebook that are solely dedicated to the exchange of daily Kindle deals. A small, bookish community can be quite refreshing.

The Behind the Scenes Glee of Picking Up Something Completely Random to Read

This is my absolute favorite bit about Kindle Daily Deals. The fact that they expand my horizons is a huge bonus.

My Kindle has opened doors to a variety of books such as indie poetry, obscure historical fiction, and even science fiction. Every now and then, the most bizarre books end up becoming my favorite.

It is comparable to having a library card for the first time. A low-key adventure available for the price (or less) of a fancy coffee.
